Now if you want to comment on my people, this gives me the right to comment on yours. I have plenty of black friends who get tired of these people in their race that give them a bad rap.  Some blacks do work hard just like some mexicans don't work hard at all. I work with some blacks who don't even care about the work they do when they know sick people in the hospital rely on them to do a good job. They get paid real good too. We work in the laundry dept. This is a county hospital too.

I believe there will be lazy workers every single place you go. Black white, etc. I'm not going to jump on this "every illegal immigrant is a harder worker than a legal immigrant/American citizen". That is a flawed opinion. There are plenty people who dance around programs and receive government benefits as well as sell drugs and poison communities. These are legal as well as ILLEGAL citizens. I've worked with lazy people of EVERY color. I'm sure we both have plenty stories to trade

I wonder where you work at because I work at a place that hires all races and gets way better results from the mexicans (illegal or not) than many other of the races they have working there. I used to work for a black guy at a fast food resturant who would hire mexicans because he had bad experiences from hiring blacks. He told me he enjoyed sitting back and relaxing knowing that his worker weren't going to take $ from the register, take long breaks, do half ass jobs, and give him a attitude.

Maybe that's where YOU work. The field YOU'RE in. You feed into stereotypes that have been handed down to you and you sound absolutely foolish. Just like the black guy who hired people based on the color of their skin. Reinforcing negative stereotypes. I'm not even going to dignify that ignorance and foolishness in this box.

First of all Tejas was illegally taken away from Mexico in the first place. A bunch of rednecks got riled up about certain Mexican laws that asked them to just say they were "catholic" and they could take over hundreds of acres in Tejas. A few taxes here and there and it lead to a bull shit revolution. The Republic of Texas couldn't even survive on their own and had to beg the U.S. to join the country. That is some of the history of how the real illegal immigrants took Tejas.

Is redneck an appropriate term? I understand the history of how several of the western/southwestern states were acquired. Where do we go from here?Do we hand land back over and withdraw the economy fully? What would an honest resolution be?

Illegal immigration is about one thing - CHEAP LABOR. It's a collusion between:

1) U.S. corporations

2) Illegal immigrants

3) U.S. politicians (paid off by corporations to make sure the law isn't enforced)

This is happening because U.S. businessmen want to undercut the U.S. labor class (proletariat) & replace them with low wage workers.

WHO WINS? Illegal workers (earning FAR MORE than in Mexico) & U.S. businessmen in extra profits from cheap labor.

WHO LOSES? The U.S. working class.

I'm in college and work as a cashier. I notice that more than half of the people who use food stamps are immigrants. I also have had customers who can't understand a word I'm saying, and I've had a couple who speak to me in Spanish, which lucky for them, I can speak and understand @ an intermediate level. I find it odd though, as you said, that I should learn Spanish and study it in school and they should make no effort to learn English .

The Indians didn't have a written language which was really backward in the world then. Asians had a written language far back in history. Egyptians and other people of the world had been writing for eons.

Every body talks about the American Dream but do you know how this "great" nation was able to accumulate such wealth, how it accumulated the power that enabled it to amass such wealth, the Neo liberal economic policies that made many Latin American Countries poor by benefiting the Rich. Have you ever heard of NAFTA or CAFTA, the IMF and World Bank? The Majority of Latin Americans that Migrate to the US are escaping hardships that are in Large part created by the US in the first place.

you will find how it benefited a lot of Americans even if it was evil. So why now after all these years of building roads, cities, and technology that now these illegals want to be apart of a country who has had the vision that every other country admires us for.  They want to bring up the past for white guilt, however they love the fact that this country is great and yet they don't bring up the fact on what it took to become so prosperous. eg. Slavery, and killing of the indians.
