  • are those beasts aggresiv?

  • No way! People love to call them gentle giants. Their very laid back and big couch potatoes. They love to be close to theirs owners. Watch the following video to learn more: Dogs 101 - Great Danes - Animal Planet.

  • i hear great danes don't live that long. Is this true?

  • They say the average is 7 to 10 years, but the longevity is increasing, many people are reporting 11, 12, even 13 years of age.

  • I want one really bad. but I am worried that if I get one it will suffer from a turned stomach. I live in Andover ME so if I were to get one, it would be from you guys!

  • We have a great dane, and I couldn't imagine getting any other breed of dog! Love them to bits :D

And also.. Once you get one, every other dog is way too small.. Haha

  • @Vietcong01 My buddy has a great dane. Not a big fan of dogs but when I come over, she loves to slobber all over me for loving. She loves being a lap dog too. Always wanting to lay across your lap. The funny thing is that she hates the word No. You can say stay, stop, back down, anything..but if you say no. She barks. It's hilarious.

  • Fantastic dogs, we have 2 (PLUS PUPPIES IF ANYONE INTERESTED). They get on well with our other dogs, terriers, chihuahua, cats, hens, horses - everything. A great and loyal breed but God help anyone who threatens their family! Have a look at my videos search under Tessdane.

  • these dogs can weigh 160lb

  • @Vietcong01 no Great Danes are laid back dogs. mine thanks its a lap dog and she stands 5,4 on her back legs.

  • Will great Danes jump over fences?!?!?

  • you wont regret it, once you have the breed you will never go back, i have had 6 danes in my life time and would not consider any other breed. I LOVE MY DANE

  • @droan999 agreed !!!!! i live in australia where it is against the law to do such stupidl ridiculous things to a dog, i understand that they originally did the ear cropping to prevent them getting injured during hunting but these days theres no need for it besides i think it looks crap i love my danes big floppy ears ....

  • @Vietcong01 There breed was originally very aggressive as they were hunting and war dogs but over the years they have totally breed that out of them and now are the most friendly dogs you'll ever meet just dont mess with there territory when there master is not near as my dane is super protective of me and our property.
