That's why I consider elephants to be among the smartest animals in out world. Maybe even on the same level as a chimpanzee. It's these tightly knit family groups that they have, it's facinating.

i love how the camera people just stand there and watch ...but i guess they shouldn't interfere in a situation with a drowning baby elephant -_-

Animals were put on this earth to PROVE our humanity.
It's BECAUSE they are of a lower intelligence than ourselves, that we should treat them with respect and care.
Those that do not (ie: Korean and Chinese dog markets....HORRIFIC!) will reap what they sow.
Just like the Japanese did for slaughtering whales and dolphins, when a tsunami hit and washed them away.

@Splendouristvision What do you mean? Wouldn't a human mother try to save her baby from drowning or is this unique to elephants?

whats cool is that the elephants noticed they were unable to use their long horns to bring in the baby and they found another strategy to go around in a circle and then use their front power to push it out and god damn it, it worked like a charm. I like seeing this on a psychology level how these animals will notice a situation and then think ahead at least one turn from a gaming perspective and life is a sure a game.
