How to teach any dog to FETCH!

you are teaching the dog to get the toy, but not to actually give it to you. Throwing the toy for the dog then the dogs bring it to you then dropping is something all dogs can do without training...its called playing....im sure this work if you do it a couple of times and the dog actually drop the toy in your hand, but you should really show a real "fetch" if you are going to make a clip about training fetch....

@tab289 yea im sure its easy to build on, but if you use this tactics on most dogs, its more likely that the dog wants to play with the toy instead of bring it to you. If your lucky you have a dog that thinks that candy is more important than a toy, but if you use this on a breed like a malinois, it wont bring it to you, it will play instead. Im sure this works on your dog, but in generall, in dont think this is the best way to teach a dog to fetch

@testorki yea it always depends on the breed :P if the dog thinks its much more fun to play with the toy, it wont bring it to you for a pieace of candy :) i have 2 dog, 1 shepherd mix and 1 shiba, both of them know how to fetch, its just the right tactic for the right dog, some are more difficult, but im just saying if you do as he does in this video, its more likely that the dog will play with the toy instead of bring it to you

@Celiica Wrong. I've tried to learn that to my dog for years. She still doesn't bring anything back (she preferes me to chase her with the toy in her mouth :P that might very well be our problem, it's just too much fun for her). If a dog offers that or not depends much on the breed, and of course on its individual character.
