We have heard many complaints about joplin chess club so can't suggest you try it. The tournament director martin stahl has a rating of 1000 elo despite 15 years of tournament play, lots of books he read on chess, a PC with rybka and database. I ask if he is competent enough to play tournaments. Is he WITH ONLY 1,000 RATING?????? LOL Find out why he told us he and joplin chess club, are so jealous of PC Chess club. They really need to "get over it", aka stop obsessing on what PC Chess club has to offer; just buy some resources , and get off that fat obese butt and start study and chess drills. "Stop whining about lack of chess skills and get some ! LOL

He needs to learn to play chess instead of overeating so much, as overeating slows the brain. Could that explain his rating going from 1200 down to 997 ???? He told us he has to eat for brain fuel. At 1,000 raing... He is gonna need a lot of food. LOL We were not able to help him with his "issues", but did suggest counseling, and study for the chess issues. Some people are just beyond help. LOL

Does that sound like someone who should be deciding your game, affecting your rating??? He can be verified on uscf members rating section. He used to be 1200 elo.

Would you say he hasn't got much chess ability/knowledge? If so, then why go to a tournament where he decides your game? You decide. Springfield mo has a higher rated TD. You would think martin would be higher rated after .....15 yrs tournaments !!!!!!!! ROFLMAO

Many of you know that written and spoken english are different as well as style and audience, along with the effect(s) you are trying to achieve. Sometimes good writing or speaking has altered english usage, as noticed in movies and music.

You got lots of thinking to do also, mind drils, blindfold work / drills for calculation. If you play the Ruy Lopez aka Spanish C60-99 you need strong blindfold skills to calculate as it has the highest number of pure pawn endings found in many of the databases. With only K+P you must be EXACT, as pawns have no reverse.

Rating update 2590 still trying to break 2600 barrier. Can't break 2600 yet. Need more time, study, training. Consistent 2550 tested.

Not ready to go public until time is right. Can't mess up GM chances at 2700 Not focused on rating, just more chess skills. Must be patient, fame comes later.

I have a 2600.00 "Adobe CS5 Master collection" package. Check it out on adobe.com It gives you every adobe product and for web design, print, audio, and video. I have thousands of dollars invested already in dvd's and books for adobe tutorials. It seems a never ending learning process. You learn it all, then you upgrade and learn more new stuff. It is like chess, similar.

Check out "Chess Master vs Chess Amatuer" meiden or Euwe and some stuff by Pandolfini and Silman. They have some books that deal with lower rated players mindset and typical reasoning or thought process.
