The MIG-21 is a very basic and easily replicable design that retains strength and versatility while sacrificing comfort and ease of use for efficiency. Some would go so far as to say that it is the most successful plane design in history (Cost/Efficiency) , but it is safe to say that it is the most numerous jet by far in the Imperium. It has little in the way of advanced technology but can operate in any type of conditions and environment. repairable by drunk mechanics and can withstand anything

Amazing how..if you give designers the same specifications...they come up with similar designs Put American markings on these aircraft and you'd have a job separating them. I swear I saw a Euro fighter..a British Tornado and an American Sabre jet on this video clip.

I'm not american, i'm hungarian. But that doesn't matter. There's also very good american desingns as well. The americans on the other hands have a lot of different aircraft desingn studios, while there soviets had the mig and sukhoi basically. That is one reason why MIG was able to be so successful.
But they made very-very good planes, and they're still there!

Not just was :) MIGs are still dominating! Hopefully someday the factory is able to come out from their financial crisis, and start producing new desingns which will scare the enemy sh*tless!
