Servo switches from L to R.
Ail Down, El Up, Th down, Rudder Up.
Servos plug into the TX like this.

Front-Ch 2, (2nd from top)
Right rear, Ch 1 (top)
Left Rear, Ch 6, just above the bottom (batt)
Black wires are closest to the edge of the Rx.

(Collective Pitch) helis are quite a handful. Fly a good sim 1st, like Real Flight or Aerofly Pro Deluxe.

They're just like the real thing. If you cant fly the Sim, then forget the model unless you have lots of $ for parts, time and patience.

Then Memorize my 9 helicopter tips, and don't deviate from them. It also helps to have some coordination too, because you have to move both sticks in all directions ALL the time! There is never a dead moment!
Then watch this video and make sure your heli looks and sounds like this.
Good luck,
Dave

  • Great clip!

I've been struggling with my honey bee since day one. All the tips on setup and balancing are great, and the throttle fixing switch is a revelation, its jus not in the manual.

  • Thanks. Leave the throttle switch alone, when learning. It wont help much on this heli. The 3d switch, you can use, only once in the air and use it for loops, etc, but also it gets most in trouble. It just switches the pitch to 0 at half throttle and locks the motor on wide open.

  • Thanks for the informative videos. I've been working my way through all of them!I am looking for some clearification though. I notice that you adjust your colective pitch by adjusting the three servo rod lengths. I've been trying to do it (on my Heli-max Axe which seems to have the same head set up) by adjusting the link that runs between the flybar and the blade grips.

What is the difference between the two methodes beside mine probably being wrong... :)

    Thanks!

  • Doing it on the servos would be better I think. Thanks for the kind support.

  • This Heli is hell, its my only RC toy with Chrystal receiver and after many crashes I had yesterday a first successful flight. And once landed and stoped, I told myself thats enought for today and by mistake I switched off the Tx and it got crazy/crashed....

  • I was having trouble getting my Gyro set for my HBFP heli cause i didnt realize that adjustments had to be made at half throttle. And so far.....this video was the only one that i found that pointed out...."Half Throttle". THANK YOU MUCH...!!!!

  • Dave.....Thank you so very much for doing this video. You are the only one i was able to find on youtube to actually explain the proper set-up of the Gyro.....and when i say proper set-up....i mean....to actually explain the procedure of the pot adjustment and the function of each pot.

  • Hello, I have HBFP and got an idea of using a Electrifly V-pitch plane propeller system for the tail rotor by using a Y-connector for the tail motor to integrate with the main and the servo to the mixer.Just an idea and im not gonna do that, please answer

  • How much throttle does your honey bee lift up with when the throttle trim is set to lowest position?

    Thanks, michael :)

  • Why did they say it wouldnt work ?? Its an awesome idea :D and i love problem solving!
