I remember as a kid hating that gym and inevitably drawing maps for it. I drew maps in the Silph Co. building, I drew maps of the caves WITH details about what trainers were where, what pokemon they had etc. and even item placement. My friends had a tendency of looking over my maps so I kinda did that for them more then anything else. I knew the maps and the pokemon, they knew all the stupid cheats like the old man glitch.

I vaguely remember this. As in not at all.

hahahaha.
i know exactly what you are talking about. xD
i decided to play my Pokémon Red on my Gameboy Color... and my Pokémon Blue on my Gameboy SP. on my Red game on the Color - i couldn't see those damn walls because of the glares coming from the screen. but because of the backlight on the SP - I could see the white lines on my Blue game. :P

mm I didn't tm my pokemon 'till they're lvl 50-60. Try playing using the pokemon's own attacks~ It'll be less easy.

Until "recently", maybe 4-5 years ago, I never owned an original Game Boy and I don't recall Koga's gym being too hard to navigate on my Game Boy Color

Gaaaah! Liiiiiies!
When I played yellow version, Koga was hard as hell to beat. I had to save before battling and turn the game off if lost. I did this 3x before I killed he goddamn Venomoth. Maybe because my strongest Pokemon was Pikachu....but still!
Ah, memories~

i never found koga's gym difficult, even on the original GB.

even leaving the thing was great just because each theme thing had its own different screen saver that's something you don't see these days really.
Though I was amazed Nintendo did a similar plug in for the game cube for GBA games
Always a pleasure. Love it.
