Today, April 4th 2013, Adobe revealed some details about the next generation of their video tools. In this tutorial series we give you some sneak peak about the next version of Adobe After Effects. The tutorials are recorded with the not yet published version of Adobe After Effects that will be shown by Adobe in their demos at the NAB show.

This video shows the new version of the Warp Stabilizer called "Warp Stabilizer VFX". While the version of Warp Stabilizer included in CS6 did already a very good job in stabilizing video clips, this new version can in addition be used for challenging VFX and compositing tasks. In particular you can create a stabilized precomp, similar to the workflow offered by the tool MochaImport+ (see http://www.mamoworld.com/mochaimport). In a nutshell, stabilized precomps allow to modify objects in scenes with camera movement as easy as if there would be no camera movement at all.

We compare the reverse stabilization of Warp Stabilizer VFX and MochaImport+ and analyse which of them is best for what kind of shot. While MochaImport+ is perfect for modifying planar surfaces, the subspace warp of "Warp Stabilizer VFX" is useful in particular for objects that are not entirely planar.
