How do you record a commentary on Windows Movie Maker?

Go to the timeline/storyboard and look for an icon resembling a microphone. Click it, and there you go!

Why don't I have Windows Movie Maker on my PC?

Windows Movie Maker is available for free to users with Windows XP and Service Pack 2. If you don't have SP2 and XP, you may need to buy the product.

My timeline is all scrunched up, what do I do?

On the timeline, click the magnifying glass with the + in it.

I added Ease In to a clip but the spot where I want it to Ease Out is on the same clip!! What do I do?

Find the spot where you want it to start easing out, pause the clip on that spot and on the preview, click the button that looks like something is being pushed apart. Add the Ease Out effect on the new clip.

Commentary Information:

What did you use to record the commentary?

I used a USB Logitech headset with mute button and Windows Movie Maker.

What are all those noises and why are you breathing so hard?

Unfortunately, the mic picked up pretty much every sound in the basic vicinity. So pretty much every little noise I made was picked up by the mic.

In reality, paper isn't flying around and there's no one in the room hammering things away. The "tsk" sound was just my tongue. The paper noises were just me holding my script, the thumping noises...I honestly have no idea whatsoever where those came from.

And finally...I was quite nervous in the commentary =p Which is the reason I had so many problems with wording and keeping up with the video. I don't know why, but the script just made me even more nervous than I already was. At some point in Part 2, I even abandon the Script.

Okay, I have a question:

So I finished recording my two videos which were over 1 hour (just saying), and When I went to WMM (Windows Movie Maker), & put the file onto WMM, it turned into over 140+ pieces of clips! What the heck happened?! And when I finished recording, the video in the regular file looked just like one file! D: Please help... =.=

It split your movie into clips for several reasons. For starters, it makes it much easier to edit individual clips and saves you the trouble of having to split sections yourself. It also does this to make it easier to delete certain portions of your video. Remember, a windows movie maker project is not the same as a movie - once you're finished, the program converts it into a movie through the "Finish Movie" tab.
