Tony Benn, waiting for the Viva Palestina aid convoy to depart, takes a call from the Observer regarding the previous night's arrests under anti-terrorism laws. The Viva Palestina aid convoy - 110 vehicles driven by brave, self-financed members of the British public and filled with almost £1m worth of practical aid - has now left London on its way to Gaza via France, Spain and North Africa, as part of a remarkable initiative born of an idea by George Galloway MP and organised in just 4 weeks by the Viva Palestina umbrella group. Follow their progress at www.vivapalestina.org. It's still not too late to make a financial contribution. Stills at www.flickr.com/photos/ectomorfo. Viva Palestina!
well i am not surprised at all and was expecting something like that to happen, what do you expect of a pro sionist governement, they had their media present to cover that but never wanted to cover the humanitarian convoy, one thing they should know is that they will never get our votes again and that we have the upper hand on this, they can go and look for people to vote for them in israel.
if you think that we are good only to pay taxes you are wrong

YEs the use fot he terrorism act by police to arrest humanitarian people on an aid mission stinks. Then when the police arrest on such poor evidence and have to release all without charge and compensate them so they can catch up with their convoy begs belief. The timing of the arrests shows police used the arrests to try and take media coverage away form the good work of the convoy in a deliberate and illegal act of orwellian bullying
