I love this song..."Down the Trail of Achin' hearts, by Patti Page. I was very young when she sang this. Probably around 15 years old......In 2010..I am now 75. Just remember this.....PEOPLE get OLD.....MUSIC never GETS OLD. It's IMMORTAL. This is a clear example of MUSIC of this type.

@glipzik I suspect that Patti Page's recording was the first because it made the Pop Chart just before Hank Snow's made the Country Chart. In the early 1950s when Patti's recordings were most popular, records were released as Pop, Country, or R&B. Her record likely would have made the Country Chart but Mercury Records was more interested in the more lucrative Pop market. It took 10 years for Patti to have a record (Mom and Dad's Waltz) make the Country Chart as a followup to Tennessee Waltz.
