Wow, I've been saying the same thing for years, and was particularly more vocal about this after we entered into N.A.F.T.A.
Most people ignore me as if I was crazy. I don't have a degree in economics nor am I very smart. Sometimes I would question if my reasoning because I am not well informed. I know this is not an end all and be all, but It's nice to see someone more educated then myself saying the same thing. I sure hope this is not just some form of ill conceived conformation bias.
