Sara Lou playing "Strangeness" at The Zodiac Sessions open mic night, Dublin, Ireland.

SARA LOU

Sara Lou is a singer songwriter from Dungarvan, Waterford. At the young age of four, she started out as an Irish dancer and musician playing flute and tin whistle in the Irish traditional scene and has since toured Asia and America performing in a prominent Irish dance show. During her dancing years, Sara Lou won four all Ireland medals and three Scottish and British medals and was also ranked in the World Irish Dancing Championships. She has also had several Munster and all Ireland titles for playing the flute and tin whistle. Her burning passion however, has always been singing.

At eighteen years, she decided to branch out on her own, playing guitar and singing in local venues. Early in 2008, she was the winner of an online international talent contest "Clipstar" in the singing category, where she sang her own version of Mercy by Duffy. After such an encouraging response, Sara Lou began to write her own original songs, which enabled her to perform in more established live-music venues nationwide.

Sara Lou then took her songs to the ClayCastle Recording Studio to make a demo. Here, she came to the attention of Colin G Entertainment, who were instantly impressed by her natural voice, song writing and her outright determination and focused drive to succeed. Colin G Entertainment subsequently began to represent Sara Lou and signed a management deal with her in August 2008.

Over the past few months Sar aLou has been working tirelessly in the studio on her debut album "See you soon". The album is a collection of pop/soul sounds, which includes five of her own original songs, covers of some of her favourite chart songs and a bonus dance track. Since its release in July the album has received great feedback ensuring radio play on Waterfords WLR FM and Beat 102/103 FM.

With the desire for Sara Lous wonderful and melodious voice, she is constantly in demand gigging around Waterford city and county as well as nationally, achieving a huge fan base and widespread acclaim for her live gigs. Sara Lous unique style of song writing emerged from exposure to such varied artists as KT Tunstal, Tom Baxtor, Fiona apple and lots more.

In early August 2008, Sara Lou was approached and asked to sing on the soundtrack to the movie "Insatiable". The film premiered in the IFI in Dublin on the 2nd August. The song she sang was featured in the final scenes of the film, which played on to the credits. She has since been asked to go back to the studio in DIT later this year to also record a country song for the same movie.

Sara Lou has already been receiving widespread critical acclaim and is being tipped as "one to watch out for in 2009", by music industry officials throughout the country.
