Who the heck dislikes this? ??

I swear I never see any women in Karajan's orchestra..

I actually have a much more neat recording of Don Juan. Karajan/BPO too. Much this is pretty good nevertheless.

Don Juan, the compulsive spanish lover from a characterically late-nineteeth-century point of view. Instead of the unrepentant don giovanni of Mozat ot Byron's amused (and amusing) Don Juan, Strauss presents a man striving to overcome the bonds of human nature, only to be driven by failure and despair to suicide. The music gorgeously ocheastrated for a vast array of instruments, moves in bursts of passion, from the surging splendor of its opening to a bleak and shuddering conclusion. Well Done!
