@ck44052 1 Timothy 4: 4-5 - "For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer." Yes it is satisfying the flesh, but Jesus never opposed satisying the flesh in moderation (as long as its not sinful obviously) - for example Jesus went to feasts and partys, even turning water into wine! The Lord commanded the Jews to have various celebrations, so surely this celebration pleases God too :)
