Here is my homemade laser torch using a high brightness 635nm laser diode. This laser is a beast!! Goggles are absolutely necessary when working with a laser this strong.

You'll be seeing these laser diodes in commercially produced laser hosts soon I would bet. I'm surprised I haven't seen anything from Wicked lasers yet.

Sorry you haven't seen any videos from me lately, you can thank the Chinese mail service for that. I should have a LOT more videos in the near future if I finally get the stuff in the mail that I've been waiting on.

  • I think Ghostbusters sum up my current thought nicely.

Dr. Egon Spengler: There's something very important I forgot to tell you.

    Dr. Peter Venkman: What?

Dr. Egon Spengler: Don't cross the streams.

    Dr. Peter Venkman: Why?

Dr. Egon Spengler: It would be bad.

Dr. Peter Venkman: I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean, "bad"?

Dr. Egon Spengler: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.

  • @hamza45001 no? what made you think that?

  • I hear the star wars theme song right now

  • how to light up fireworks in total safeness:

    Buy one of these lasers

Aim to your buddy eyes right after he lighted up the fireworks

    Run like hell

    Result: you are safe

  • Lightsaber batlle :)

  • yoooo!( jason ) light up the joint. (Kevin) dude i don't got a lighter mann.. (Ephraim) dude i got dis man i got a laser(:

  • @LiquidSneak510 Working with lasers at above 5mw, you'll need glasses. A laser with an output power of >5mw will give permanent damage if you look at the dot when shined on a wall :) so goggles are a must for lasers at above 5mw.

  • to the human eye 405nm is more dangerous but

at such powers above 5mw every laser is eye unsafe

  • the difference in color is hugh!!!!

and yes 635nm is much brighter because the red photoreceptors

in the eye are stronger stimulated at that wavelengt comparing to 650nm.

and 635nm stimulates the green receptors also a bit thats the reason

that 635nm looks orangered and 650nm deep red with almost no orange.

to me 660nm is the most pure red ,wavelengts bigger then 650nm appear

faint because the human eye is not sensitive under the 400nm and above 700nm.

for most people the bandwide is smaller.
