A long time ago, we decided to blow up some DD speakers as the shipping company had managed to break them along the way to our location.

The first component had a huge deformation in the basket and the tweeter had broken off. The second speaker in the set had a crack on the tweeter mount. Thats why it came off.

We did this only because they were already broken and to test out how much power they could take. They took 2000W RMS on regular songs, but they couldnt handle 10hz sinus tone :)

An amazing bang for the buck ratio on them. And they sound very good to, despite the very cheap price :)

  • They lasted long! Many expensive speakers don't even last that long!

  • @SexMaster63 I know, pretty impressive :) With a normal current power for those kinds of speakers, they would almost be impossible to break.

  • Interesting, the cone knocked off the tweeter mount.

  • @SexMaster63 Read the description. I explained why there ;)

  • nice to know that not all cheaper stuff is bad. i wouldve saved that second one though. glued the tweeter mount back and had a free good speaker(maybee as a small sub?)

  • @Tussi17 Actually i did read the description, but it takes a lot of force to knock off a tweeter mount even if it has a crack etc... with the speaker cone by itself.
