John Bayne, director of Strategy for Display Technologies at Corning, showed me a demo of their popular Gorilla Glass product. Corning's Gorilla Glass is an environmentally friendly alkali-aluminosilicate thin sheet glass designed specifically to function as a protective cover glass for high-end display devices such as notebook PCs, televisions and mobile phones. It can be used as a protective cover sheet for touch screen devices without impeding the functionality of the device. Customers can specify a version of Gorilla glass with a special coating, making it easier to clean than other cover glasses. This is especially useful for devices that function by touch.

Mr. Bayne says about 200 million products today in the industry are using Gorilla Glass. Some manufacturers promote that they use Gorilla Glass, while others prefer not to disclose their suppliers. Some products you may know that use Gorilla Glass are Samsung Galaxy S, Motorola Droid, Nokia N8, with more listed at Corning's website.

  • @BalloonMan31 Are you suggesting that you believe he uses gorillas to make that glass? Were you not paying attention at all to his explanation? Maybe you should watch the video again dude

  • @Obladeobladadada LOL...

  • @FoodOnCrack but they use the same glass..

  • eventually it will get some tiny scratches, but an iphone would have really huge scratches under teh same conditions

  • @BalloonMan31 im hoping u're kidding.....u are right?

  • yeah, the scientists go out and kill the gorillas, so that they can use the gorilla's blood. You see, after making the gorilla glass, they drink the gorilla's blood to give them extra strength to sell it. so, so terrible...

  • If i find this guy walking by my house, i will blow his shit up with my shotgun, for killing those poor animals, exterminating animals for some shitty product, the human kind never learn.

  • The only way for this shit to stop is to boycott the products that uses these glass.

  • I've checked what supermouse031 said and it's true LOL believed or not, gorillas are killed in order for them to make the glass LOL
