Thank you, Israel? Arabs refuse Loyalty Oath to Jewish State

Israel is facing criticism over a bill that requires non-Jewish citizens to swear allegiance to the state. The government says the Loyalty Oath is a necessary step for peace, but Arabs are refusing to pledge themselves to a country they say is snatching their holy land. RT's Paula Slier reports.

@11xzxzxz I think you need to read some history. From the beginning of time, even when the Muslims regained control of Jerusalem from the crusaders, they let the Jews back into the city that had been driven out by the Christians. The Jews lived under much better circumstances in the Arab countries than they did in Europe - where the Holocaust happened in the first place. There aren't Arab thugs, there are suicide bombers or rocket throwers who act out of desperation. Not the same.

@TheHodan101 not at all, Jews and Muslims do not, we embrace each other. These politics do not influence the way I live my life. We are equal. I believe both should live there and so what if someone has to say a dumb pledge at least you can live there. I wish that the gentleman would be left in peace and others like him.

@JuniMajnoony I think the Israeli leaders have lately become sometimes thuggish but that is in part due to their long history of persecution by Arabs. They tried appeasement. I don't want to talk about Isreali thugs until Arabs admit some blame and stop going back to 1947. That's over and done. I'm sure the Indians in America would get all of America back but that never happens and this world is cruel and ugly. I believe Israel thinks it is fighting for it's life. Arabs are not.

@11xzxzxz I am a Arab-Israeli with documented history in my village for 800yrs. Are you saying I should be "absorbed" into a neigbouring country just so that Israel can feel safe? Would you give up your home if I told you to move over for people who claim that are owed your land because God said so? I wouldn't think so. Israel is not defending itself, it's extreme leaders are just creating excuses to push people around. Since when were A-Is a threat? Are they stealing land or is Israel?

The Arab countries have expressed open hate of Israel and will push it into the sea so Israel is just developing ways to defend itself against terrorists countries. Palestinians should be absorbed some Arab and Muslim world and Israel can assist in some way major way. The Arab world is huge. Israel is size of a peanut. The Arabs treat their minorities much worse than Israel does. I am not a Zionist; I just want peace for all. Israel is far from perfect but they are not a terrorist state.

I don't think you grasp the situation. Israelies are stealing land OUTSIDE of israel then forcing the arabs living there to pledge alliegeice to israel. Would you stand for that?
