I found out just recently that the movie To Sir with Love is based on the experiences of a real person, Dr. Edward Ricardo Braithwaite, a black man from Guyana, South America, who taught in a poor white neighborhood in London. He wrote a book about his experiences that was made into the movie. Dr. Braithwaite is still around at 100 years old.

They didn't have to strip their clothes off either. Things were so much simpler back then...

Amazing she just stands there and sings with a Blue background, no circus acts, no 20 half naked dancers. How did this become a hit? I guess we were happy with just singing ability.

Reminds me of Adele a little. No special effects, no lighting shows, no smoke and mirrors. Singing and that's it.

A fantastic song from a formidable film: I see it several times, and I 'm never being bored about it because it teaches valours and reality with children in school across a formidable actor: Sidney Poitier.
