A clip revealing information about the inflated plain under Yellowstone Lake. Starting December 27 2008 intense earthquake swarms have been centered on this bulge.

  • It's easy to say that an eruption at Yellowstone will affect several states, but the truth of the matter is somewhat different. The eruption would immediately affect a diameter of 100 miles (touching Wyoming, Idaho, Montana). The effect on other states would be limited to ash and a slight raise in temperature.
