@FunUsernamesAreGone Well, "making whoopee" refers to sex (pretty popular phrase for a long time, but I wouldn't have a clue if it weren't for my mom xD) but the lyrics are otherwise pretty self-explanatory. Basically, the story goes: Man gets married to have sex, man has kids and suddenly isn't so satisfied anymore, man cheats on wife, and (at the end of the story) man realizes he can't afford a divorce.
In another version, I think Eddie adds that this is why he prefers casual dating xD

I'm sorry, but is he singing about sex? It really seems like he is, and I'm disturbed.

@luvebug21 Yes it's normal for a species to have the desire to reproduce, but there are many great people who were homosexual. We are getting pretty far away from this cute song though.

@trajan75 what i really meant to say was, there are many ppl that are against same sex relations they think that if its a Male female then its ok for them to have happiness and by their standards is ok,"{as long as your lover falls in what they call normal category" blah

@luvebug21 By straight people I assume you mean the vast majority of the human race who continue mankind on this planet, two of home had the misfortune of producing you.

Our family used to go to Fidelman's Resort in South Haven, MI. The owners, Irving and Sheila Fidelman, were also great entertainers, and would bring the house down with "Makin' Whoopee."

Gladly, Paul! A slightly cynical take on matrimony... ;)
