Beltane 2011, Glastonbury Market Place.

Here we see the Green men having a "Tussle", and the May Queen selects her "mate" for the year, the Summer King, and joins with him in a fantasy handfasting, (pagan marriage) using red & white ribbons, also symbolic of the red & white springs of Glastonbury.
I have not used my footage of the procession of this year's event; it has been recorded quite ably elsewhere, but I think that last year's High Street procession was more exciting, and you can see a video of that on this channel.

Great vid Mike. I was going to try and get to a Beltane Fest here int he States, but my daughter was sick so I was not able to go. Was bummed. But at least I get to see your wonderful vids of the celebration over there!

excuse me!!!!! Glastonbury is not for idiots!! (ok, there may be a few but don't tarnish us for the few) and we're not deluded, we're the ones who truely understand the land and how to celebrate it.
