Well one strategy to win matches is (if ur playing a proper match with one side black and the other white) to put the opponents coin behind their line, they will have a hard time getting it out lol because in Carrom you cant hit it directly, you have to hit it with a rebound

So to start put a coin in the centre or anywhere on the board and try to hit it.. keep changing the position of the coin and keep practicing till you are very consistent at hitting the coin.. then try to pocket that coin into the pockets.. after play matches with ur friends and relatives, you can see how to arrange the coins by googling how to play carrom..

Thanks for those comments. Are there any starting tips and learning techniques that you would recommend for a total beginner and learner? What about strategy as well??

oh yeah i forgot to say, get a 100wat bulb and hang it over the carrom board it really increases your performance and in winter the board gets rough and the coins tend to stick to the board, also get this powder called boric acid (eBay or your pharmacy) dont get the others which are so called carrom powder,mostly pink, they reduce your boards life..

thanks :) the shot in the middle was just a trick shot you can play anyway you want it is very interesting... you need practice though

I've never played....Yet.... but at christmas my wife is getting me a Carrom set, but you certainly make it look easy....I'll bet it's very difficult to play accurately, so well done........that shot in the middle seemed so casual, I'm sure you meant to play it that way!! I'll soon know how hard a game it is to play, so roll on Christmas so that I can learn. Good play though.
