A stellar show-off by this amazing man (and his buddy)! Includes the famous "bottle of beer" bit.

  • I can't get over how fantastic he was. How could he stand there and let the dummy brow beat and humiliate him withought saying a word or even moving his lips!. A truly wonderful act, the likes of which will never be seen again. In these days of instant fame, acheived by some ghastly perfomance in front of television judges will never prepare performers to acheive the wonderful talent that grew out of the experience of working the old bump and grind music hall, club and variety circuits.

  • The man was truly a marvel. The greastest ever. That po face when the dummy was talking to him. He really created the illusion that the dummy was a real live person and that he was being brow beaten by the dummy. As for the "Bottle of Beer" bit, how clever for the dummy to be challenging him to say it when he was actually saying it anyway, through the dummy. I think that he was the greatest ventriloquist of all time. Does anybody know what happened to him in later years?

  • Dummy sounds like Eric Morecambe

  • he was fantastic all the others moved their lips but he never did. The reverse dummy routine is excellent JIM

  • The thing that makes Arthur Worsley, the best ever vent act is not just his brilliant technique where he stays facing th audience instead of looking away to hide his mouth, but the fact that he was very, very funny.

  • He was from Falsworth Manchester and is buried in Carlton Cemetery Blackpool,

  • @mitchly Oxford Rd, Manchester.

  • Just to say "yes" and "I agree" to whatever anybody else has said about this fantastic man. How I wish I had a time machine! Billy (Paul) Gibbons. Audlem. South Cheshire. P.S. It's just possible a close relative of mine worked with Arthur and Charley/Charlie. I'm not sure though....let me do some more research..It would have been at the Palace Theatre, Oxford Rd if she did.....
