Me too back in the mid 70's... Jack Evans was Cheif of Police. Threatening to give tickets for "Excessive use of Siren." Ahhh those were the days!

what does R.I.T mean? iv never heard of it here in my area of wv im on upshur county st3 adrian vol fire dept

R.I.T. stands for Rapid Intervention Team. We are actually on several other companies' box assignment for RIT. This team is used for saving your own (firefighters). We stand by at the point of entry on the building in case a firefighter has an emergency.

How is R.I.T. responding to a station (transfer)? Shouldnt R.I.T. be on the scene...

Of course we were going to the scene. When have you ever heard of a RIT Team going to a station. The comment was that we were running mutual aid with Station 20. Common Sence man.
