This Hurricane kicked my mom into Labor. I was born in Tampa, sept. 2 (85)during this storm. I was actually wondering how to pronounce it. I was thinking something like (L-N-uh). Is that right? If so, it's a candidate for my daughter's name, should I have one : )

I was living in Milton Florida when this Hurricane came through right after Hurricane Danny. We evacuated the first time she hit land and vowed never to do that again and just bunkered down for her next two tours of our area. When Elena was over we had to stay confined to our house an additional day because our yard became the evacuation point for every alligator in Blackwater Bay for almost 12 hours.

I was living in Mississippi as a kid when Elena hit. I remember the weatherman saying it was going to hit florida but then came around and hit us. We didn't evacuate.

I was in a storm shelter on Keesler AFB when Elena hit. It was the oddest thing to experience! Thanks for posting this!

I don't recall the name of the hall, but the 407-L was there. My (then ) husband was an instructor at Keesler from July '85 to '89.

the shot at 3:00 on the clip is on the off ramp of I-10, not far from Keesler. I was in the wallcloud at the time and Keesler was recording gusts of 110 mph.

Definitely not a good thing to watch, what with the 2007 season looming ahead of us. Makes one want to move out of Florida.
