The Globe and Mail is reporting that Xstrata (XSRAY) CEO Mick Davis says the company would be open to a deal with a commodities company like Glencore International if it can add "considerable value" to its shareholders. The company hasn't received a merger or takeover proposal from Glencore, but the says the two have held discussions...and finally, the Wall Street Journal reports that Americans are spending more on electronics and less on durable goods, according to Commerce Department data.
