@mattallica464 It would be nice to keep some of the older buildings intact, even if it's partial, it could still create a nice aesthetic appeal. Like how Ford Field incorporated the Hudson's warehouse. I'd rather spend my tax money on that than having them demolish it completely and build some crummy cookie cutter condominiums. The architecture in Detroit is one of a kind and it could be repurposed to create value in what is being newly built around it.

Please don't put a parking garage in its place. Build a nice park with a baseball diamond in the exact spot where the one at Tiger Stadium was. The park could be a memorial for Detroit sports in general. Make the diamond a bit extra special as well by having some structuring to replicate the architecture of the older ballparks. then charity games can be held there, maybe those games where they wear the old unis and play by the older rules. Much better than building cookie cutter condos!

once again, another part of Detroit gets the wrecking ball. Whats next? Michigan Central Station? The G.A.R building? sad

i lived in detroit i took my sons to the ballpark . it nneded to be a part saved for at least the history of the game. old time players played in that park . that alone should have been enough for the league to at least instead on at least a marker . i hope they dont put a parkinglot or a nail salon in its place. it deserves at least a statue or a marker. cobb, babe, and a lot more played in that stadium.

We know who ruined Detroit, and it is really sad.

Biggest mistake in history. they should have at least kept the right field stands where reggie jackson hit the home run in the all-star game.

Speaking of the word beautiful. The eminem music video for the song beautiful featured the stadium getting demolished.

Half you clowns talking about being trilled that they tore it down don't know shit about history nor give a damn about it. Monuments to a historical event(s) keep those memories alive. Hell the only place Detroit has ever won a World Series is gone along with a century of history. It's even worse when there is plenty of other crap that need torn down and cleaned up in Detroit. Perhaps the remains of all of those burn down house found in the "ghetto neighboorhood's" That might help??
