The main difference between Democracy and other political systems is not that democracy is more just, more free and more equal. We all know that there are democracies, and have been democracies, that are not just nor give liberty or equality. In our opinion, the essence of democracy, that which distinguishes it from other alternatives and raises it to it's pure form, is that everyone can participate in it simply by right of being human. This acknowledgment of each person as an individual, still situated in the plane of equality and compared to society as a whole, is what makes democracy what it is: A system that does not distinguish between ethnicity, religion, race or ideological. Democracy appreciates and respects all mankind for the simple fact of being human, and no other reason is needed. Therefore, all people have the right to participate in democracy, making it more complete and perfect. Every opinion counts. In this 3-minute video we attempt to explain this idea.

  • Democracy is mob rule where a 51% majority can take away the rights of a 49% minority, democracy is chaos.

  • Democracy is tyranny of the majority. I'm glad we've never had it here in America.

  • google "david beetham democracy UK" and read an easy-to-understand, evidence-based paper on how rich corporations have hijacked democracy in Britain.

You spell "responsibility wrong..." How 'bout becoming responsible for your own spelling? lol jk, jk. I don't mean it, but that's what came in my head :P

  • democracy is the tyranny of the majority over individuals

  • Plato told somethink like "democracy is the government of rabble". I think it is most apposite phrase ever!!!

  • Democracy is impossible in a group of more than 6 people. Just like that. Everything else is a fairy tale and sweet delusions.

P.S. Some people are even happier without democracy. For others it's just the freedom to choose between Pepsi and Coca-Cola. Freedom of speech? We can talk any shit we desire as long as it doesn't bother the guys at the top. Anyways, nobody gives a damn for what I speak. :)))

P.P.S. I think all people are lobsters. Hey, I'm totally free to say this. :) Democracy, eh?

I used to hold the exact opinion that you have expressed; however, my opinions have changed. Indeed, Democracy can be said to be mob rule but it is in the exertion of that power that democracies can be said to be just or unjust. The majority can exert their influence to reinforce hegemony, to create totality of the status quo, or alternatively, they can exert themselves with an ethics and morality that is not limited by hierachical designs. Only through education is this possible. Peace

  • Democracy is MOB rule. Nothing more and nothing less. You wanna be ruled by a mob?

It doesn't matter what you think it is. Mute point for the informed.

  • Democracy is MOB rule. Nothing more and nothing less. You wanna be ruled by a mob?
