I know that the phonograph and the record are a bit incongruous but I wanted to hear an "Apples to Apples" comparison with an internal horn Victrola playing a decent record.

The phonograph is a Victor Monarch Junior (Type E) from about 1902-1903. It's a front-mounted horn with an Exhibition sound box. The machine has a two-spring motor. The record is "I Got Rhythm" by Kate Smith on the Harmony label from the early 1930s.
