This is the Holy Thursday Recessional solemn procession of the Eucharist concluding the liturgy of the Lord's Last Supper. The music is in Tagalog except for the final 'Pange Lingue'. The sound that runs sporadically throughout the procession is the clapper. This was performed on the recently restored (2006) Pels & Sons four-manual pipe organ of 104 ranks at the Manila Cathedral, Basilica Minor of the Immaculate Conception, Intramuros, Manila, Republic of the Philippines. This is the largest pipe organ in all of Southeast Asia. For more detailed information on the pipe organ to include the stop list and details on the restoration project, please visit www.manilacathedral.org.

  • You can't help but kneel and adore when you see the Blessed Sacrament. Beautiful.

  • better not commented if it is not good, we should respect through Gods name. just pray for your sins insted of commenting something bad.

  • @CristianoRomae1986 Thanks a lot. In Europe, this clapper was used during the period when the bells were silent before Easter and supposedly gone to Rome.

  • They don't have things like this in America. It is much more solemn where Catholicism is strong and widespread, and solemnity is preferred than modernist practice.

I hope you could someday consider to change HOLY THURSDAY to MAUNDY THURSDAY in your title so that it can expand the search on YouTube.

  • @Qcumber

It's a clapper, used by medieval monks in the old days as a penitential sound for people to atone for their sins.

  • Is it clapping we hear in the background?

  • @FrancisTradi cardinal rosales po. sya ung presider ng evening mass of the lord's supper that time...

  • nice and inspiring

  • grabe.. namiss ko bigla magsotana.. :((

  • we kneel because we believe that Jesus Christ is present in the Eucharist. as a respect we kneel when the Blessed Sacrament passes by. its also the same during Benediction where the Blessed Sacrament is exposed, as respect, we kneel and recite the prayers for Benediction.

Holy week is the COMMEMORATION of Christ's Passion and death. thus, the term "patay ang Diyos" is just a commemoration that Jesus died on that day.

Holy week 2011 is fast approaching. April 22,2011

    God Bless!

  • I absolutly love the hymm and the organ music, but most of all the Lord Jesus Christ, present in all the taberncles of the world.
