is there any problems with rooting te hero and using cyanogenmod on a network branded handset?

and also because it is 2.2 did you get the update to gmail (that came out a couple of days ago) and also maps through the market without a hitch?

@maxsonic1 You should be fine rooting form a network branded handset. The one in this video was an Orange branded Hero and I didn't encounter any issues at all. In 2.2 I have had both the latest gmail update and the new maps update through the market with no problems whatsoever.

Hey, is this faster than the stock hero 2.1 software?

Quite interested in this, just want to ensure it is faster, as the hero just gets a lil laggy at times :(

Yes it is quite a bit faster than the stock 2.1 especially if you overclock with setCPU which is pretty easy to do.

I have a problem when I over clock my hero with setcpu my phone gets really hot(i really want to get this problem resolved because overclocking is the only way I can play angry birds).

Fun note:

The widget "tajm" is actually pronounced like the regular word "time". It's simply spelled that was as the swedish developer decided to go with the swedish spelling of the pronunciation of "time".
