It's nicely played, although I have to say it almost makes me nervous, mistakes are fine sometimes, but not if you haven't tried your best to memorise. I don't mean to ridicule him, it is a good performance. Usually if you really enjoy playing something, it will be easier to remember, which almost makes you think he doesn't. If he can put in the work to read it this well, even if not for the first time, I think a bit more effort would go a long way!

I agree with fifanb, at this level you SHOULD memorize the piece. It's the least you can do to show your audience that you care about what you are playing! Also, it would free up the mind from reading the score to concentrate on interpretation and being more musical, with less mistakes.This performance is stale and makes me nervous to listen to it. I hope this is helpful to Dave because he is a nice person.
