My dad has challenged me to a Worst Director contest between Tommy Wiseau and Ed Wood. We'll have to see where this goes.

loved the movie...fun and heartfelt. Anyone interested should check my homage to Ed Wood in 'Soul Robbers from Outerspace' on my channel.

That is pretty much true. They were paying tribute to the 50s and the films of Ed Wood. Tim Burton seems to have a very unique visual style in all of his movies which he brings to Ed Wood in order to celebrate a great man's life. I like some Tim Burton movies but he doesn't seem to be fully confident as a filmmaker. This is my favorite of his as he is an eccentric figure and understand what Ed Wood went through. Whoever hired Burton to direct was smart.

Why was the whole movie in black-and-white? My guess is when Ed Wood was alive, everything was in the black-and-white era

The creepy lady in black was called Vampira, a T.V host of a horror show and yes, she got the idea from Morticia Addams. I heard when Ed Wood asked her to be in Plan 9 From Outer Space, she only agreed to do it if she had no speaking lines!
