  • I was thinking obedience due to the Law/Gospel contrast in the first one. However, merit is good in the (I haven't done these since I've left high school or perhaps earlier, and don't remember what they are called).

  • EXCELLENT !!! .... I have have seen legalistic preachers crash & burn because they just can't get Romans 7...1 Cor. 6:7 talks like you are condemned but then says

    11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 12All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

  • This video should have far more views than it does. Most Christians are terribly confused about the distinction between Law and Gospel--a confusion that is terribly evident here on youtube. I can't even count how many times I've heard it said that the Gospel, in whole or in part, consists of commands to be obeyed (as when people say that the command to repent is a requirement of the Gospel). The Gospel places NO DEMANDS UPON US AT ALL! It is good news to be believed, period. Good job Matthew!
