In 2006, I took my family to see a free concert at Boston City Hall Plaza that featured Blue Oyster Cult. When they played the song "Godzilla", my six year old son Owen asked me what the song was about. Soon, I found myself renting and watching a ton classic Japanese monster movies with him. After a while, Owen wanted to make his own monster movie, and here it is.
He created his own monster, called Mechastrength, however, in this movie, we used a Mechagodzilla figure. This movie was created with a sony digital camcorder, a laptop, a few lights, a great program called Stop motion Pro, and Pinnacle Home Studio for editing.
The movie is Owen's directorial debut. It is for those of us with short spans of attention. By no means is this an epic. The soundtrack song was composed by Owen. he hummed it to me, and I played it on guitar and bass. he played drums. We hope that you have enjoyed this. Since the creation of this movie, Owen has moved on to using Star Wars figures and Bendo Toys. He has several other projects that are nearing completion, and he is willing to share them with you if you want to see more. All he needs are some words of encouragement. Thanks for watching.
