The statement about relgion is ridiculous. You don't "believe" something because you think people should have diverse beliefs. You BELIEVE something because you think it to be true, and of course, if you truly believe it to be true, you think you're right. You don't encourage people to follow other beliefs because you think it should be diverse.

I, of course, am tolerant of people who believe other things than I do, but I also, of course, think I'm right. Everyone does!

The 'binding' in 'religion' isn't necessarily to a single belief system, but for example, to the truth or root. 'Yoga' could have a similar meaning.

I'm all for spiritual multiplicity. It does survive under uniform surfaces. Eg. santeria which is basically african religion but with gods transmogrified into catholic saints. Or google 'lawson modern greek folklore' to see how some modern greek 'christians' basically still practice ancient polytheism.

His take on 'fundamentalism' is dead on!

He looks like something out of Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

Well, I think that's true, but at the end of the Killing Joke, the joker says he's not even sure if those are his memories anymore. So he kinda covered himself

I think he also felt that 1) it was a glorified annual that got packaged as a "graphic novel" based solely on his reputation and 2) he did something too horrible to Barbara Gordon. The irony is that I think she's more popular as Oracle than she ever was as Batgirl.

Exactly, just one issue and everyone points to it as one of the best batman "graphic novels". I think it's a decent story but shouldn't be sold for more than 4.99.
