How did the Universe start? Our knowledge has been expanded; we now have the answer.
The Creator has posted a video on YouTube. The message comes to you directly, without the need for transcription or interpretation by bronze-age scribes, or analysis by Stephen Hawking or Georgia Tech.
The video tells you how you came to be here, outlines the meaning and purpose of your life, and gives you an insight into the future of humankind.
See ' God says sorry. '

@Wholoveschickens Religion does morph over time. It's not fair to say it is always the same. But it is drug kicking and screaming into modernity. I have no doubt at some point that gay marriage will be perfectly accepted and christians will claim that they were the leading champions of that change in society. And, to be fair, many good christians feel that way. But to say that religion is helping this change along would be laughable at this point.

@herrzyklon sorry, of course it wasn't, it was detected on Earth by Penzias and Wilson. COBE just gave a visual 'map'

Was it the Hubble Deep Space Telescope that detected the CMB, I thought it was COBE?

A couple of good books to read to get a good idea about the current research and theories on the nature and origin of the universe are:
1) The Cosmic Landscape by Leonard Susskind
2) The Grand Design by Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mladinow

Is that George W. Bush talking?
@rythmnmethod Wow. You think I don't even deserve life simply because I believe something different than you and/or I made a sarcastic remark.
You must be a Christian.

@rythmnmethod no, not at all like christianity. Christianity has nothing in the way of veriable evidence, whereas evolution, the big bang, germ theory, the theory of gravity, all have a substantial amount.
Christianity is never 'refined', it is adapted to modern society. In fact usually adapted whenever science completely disproves a belief beyond doubt. though some people cling to middle age ideas
