I became an artist because of this show, and Bob Ross. The two combined infused me with such a fascination with painting at such a young age that, now, there is nothing else for me to do with myself. I must have art.
I wonder if they knew what they gave us. Painting, yes, instruction, absolutely. Entertainment, and how. But so much more than that.

In this clip, Bill was -more or less- still the hyperactive guy we all saw a few years earlier on "Magic of Oil Painting" , although a few years down the road on his early 90's eps if ya ever notice he becomes more soft-spoken and inaudible by that time(he got really old-looking and his hair goes from brown to silver)
