One of the legendary matches of Justine's career, overcoming a 5-1 mountain in the final set to win. Coming off her lengthy virus layoff, not many favored her to go all the way, but as is usual with her, impossible is nothing. Gotta feel for Anastasia though, she played her heart out till the closing stages.

The final point is simply a classic!

Today, Justin has announced her retirement.... its a sad day for those who followed her... like me. The greatest one... ever!

We should be happy for her for feeling the decision was wise. She was a joy to watch, and deserves to live her life now.

I agree. She definitely brought a great deal more to the table than any other player. Even her haters will miss her, because she really challenged her peers. I will miss her terribly.

Painful to watch. I've seen Henin lose too many matches to nerves to enjoy this, but it's nice to see that she doesn't always choke (but I wish she'd just finish matches like these in 2 sets).

You should also credit Myskina, and remember Justine had not played competitive tennis in months before this, and was recovering from a draining condition. I love these matches, where she puts her fans through a wringer. And I dont think she has lost many important matches lately to nerves. Yes, Miami and Wimbledon last year. What else?

Poor Myskina. This is a great testament to Justine's great talent though.

wow the way Tracy Austin's voice just jumped in elation when she said "UNBELIEVABLE" when she saw that clean winner off the backhand down the line on Match Point really was amazing to hear. I really miss Justine terribly and nastya too.

This was a testament to Justin's will to never give up on a match, but what does this say about Myskina? You truly are NOT a champion and don't deserve to win if you can't close out a match with a 5-1 lead!!!

Thank you so much for posting this. This may be four years old but the emotions are still very alive. The WTA now has gone askew with Justine's retirement. She truly is one of the BEST.

Thanks for that match. Justin 7 years my favorite player. I miss her so much. And Anastasia 5 years my number 2. I miss her too. She retired in 2007.

Thanks for this lovely viceo. :) I'm glad you posted the entire match, do you have the final of Mauresmo VS Henin? Anyways, awesome match, I love Justine, she has so much class, and possibly the best tennis technique I've seen. I love Anastasia, too. xxxx
