  • Dear "1" dislike, there is a firing squad waiting for you, are you human!?!

  • I think this is one of the most powerful slow blues Iv ever heard....only Peter's dynamic guitar for a few seconds...but with his great voice, which is sometimes neglected and dont forget the The Mac rhythm section....they knew how to play a powerful slow blues!!!!!!!

  • @hotrodchevy5117 Why is this so hard for you? Billy Gibbons, and SRV respect pre 1972 Peter Green. Jimmy Page didn't while he was making millions hand over fist. Thirty years later, Jimmy Page is playing "Oh Well", with the Black Crowes.

Mr. Gibbons built ZZ Top on Peter Green. Just listen to "Blue Jean Blues".

  • @strangeones4 I never said Green was a phony.I said Page wasn't.I also said it's the nature of music to have influences. That doesn't make someone not 'authentic'.Green was by no means the first to play the slow blues.Based on your argument, anyone who may have been influenced by Green is a ripoff.Billy Gibbons claims Green as an influence.Based on your argument, that makes Gibbons a 'fraud'.He made millions while Green was sick as well.Do you think Gibbons is a 'fraud'? What about SRV? Ripoff?

  • @hotrodchevy5117 The music currently playing as I type this certainly isn't Jimmy Page. My point (since you obviously missed it), is that Peter Green established the "slow blues formula" in England as far back as 1967. Jimmy Page hooked upon Peter Green's idea and did his version of it. Just as LZ took from Willie Dixon, Spirit, and Joan Baez, this isn't some "newsflash". Peter Green recorded albums' with Eddie Boyd, Otis Spann, and Memphis Slim. Green was no phony.

  • @strangeones4 Indefensible? Last time I checked, it was Pages' hands on the guitar, not Greens. When are you going to address your arguments that I called out? All you do is spit out anti LZ dribble. It isn't a contest. LZ's success doesn't make them less authentic. Greens illness doesn't make him more authentic. Quit dodging the argument.

  • @hotrodchevy5117 Jimmy Page coulnd't play "Love That Burns" to save his life. Stop defending the indefensible. The ONLY reason Jimmy Page could play "Since I've Been Loving You", is because of Peter Green's approach to slow blues guitar. Without Peter Green, there is no "slow blues" Jimmy Page. Suck it up, and deal with it!

  • @hotrodchevy5117 If you look at the writing credits for the "original" pressing of "Led Zeppelin", you will see that LZ's management (Peter Grant) tried to suck every dime they could from Willie Dixon, along with other proper songwriters. Jimmy Page didn't counter that change until Dixon's family took LZ to court, and won. OTOH, Peter Green began to feel guilty about "stealing" from the original bluesmen around late 70/1971 (he didn't), which probably led to his illness.

  • @strangeones4 Both grew up in working class families in London. Just because Green was LATER dianosed as a Schizo, doesn't all of a sudden make him an 'authentic bluesman'. You can't discredit Page based on success. Green is known for his preillness blues. Both borrowed influences from the same players. It's not a bad thing, it's the nature of the music. Green and Page were bluesmen BEFORE Greens illness. Doesn't mean Page is clueless.

  • @hotrodchevy5117 So while LZ made millions off this music, while Peter Green struggled with his inner psyche for forty years makes them equal? I think Peter Green has lived the life of many authentic bluesmen from the southeast US, combined. Jimmy Page has no clue.
