Moderate Islamist party set for win in Morocco elections

http://www.euronews.net/ In Morocco supporters of the moderate Islamist PJD party have been celebrating. Partial results from Friday's election have set the PJD on course for victory in the polls.




Interior Minister, Taib Cherkaoui whose ministry organised the election announced the PJD had 80 seats out of the 395-seat parliament and was set to be the biggest contingent.




Party leaders have said they will promote Islamic finance though steer clear of imposing a strict moral code on society. The party remains loyal to King Mohammed.
