  • this is an excellent compilation of Tagore's song, Debabrata's voice and Van Gogh's paintings. Excellent taste,

  • @saibalban Thank you very much.

  • I think all the paintings are not from Rembrandt or Van Gogh. I can clearly see the style and touch of Pierre-Auguste Renoir in the painting where a lady is sitting with her son on grass..........

If I am not terribly wrong, that painting is from Renoir......and not from Gogh or Rembrandt.....They had different styles.....

  • @gogol1950 Yes. The said painting is by Renoir...my belief is difference in style does not take away the basic conviction or integration of eyes.

  • Dear all,

This song was and is dedicated to emotions of a true bengali monarch. The paintings are chosen remembering the stamina of another legend(s): Van Gogh and Rembrandt.

    En (joy)!

  • rabi thakur is the best. no one can close to him. where did he get all those words?

  • Bravissimo!! Masterclass! No one has sung Rabindra Sangeet better than this man!! No wonder the purists hated and thwarted him! He is the only reason that I have grown to love Rabindra Sangeet which I absolutely hated in my childhood! I found it too prudish! My attitude with regards to RS changed the first time I heard DB's rendition of akash bhora about 10 years ago. I never imagined that that song, which I heard 100s of times before, could be sung as beautifully.

  • just gr8!

  • Simply Surreal !!! Brilliant imagery to go with a once in a lifetime voice and a once in the history of mankind composition.

  • this song depicts different aspects emotions and psychology towards life.......

  • A baritone , rich, appealing voice--- clear pronunciation,--right emotions--deep feelings--

a simple style of singing a difficult song---thats our ever-remembered, a very different Debobroto Biswas! Like to thank the true music lovers for their efforts for presenting marvels like these! KHUKU 41

  • @hjbrl3 yup...my bad...wonder what I'd been thinking...Akashbhora was written in 1924 - Ashwin 1331 to be precise....I guess I referred to Chopin who was born in 1810....

  • @roganjosh2008

Rabindranath Tagore was not even born 200 years ago :P

I share your sentiments but you gotta check your facts before posting :D
