There's a touch of the Smithereens, which could be an influence, or purely coincidental. My own band has sometimes been compared in complimentary fashion to bands I only know one or two songs from and have not otherwise listened to at length. In any case, I like this song! :)

I do hear the Smithereens more than anyone. Just learned about these guys on Little Stevens Underground Garage and fell in love from the very start.
