If you've never seen a sugarcane train before, this is what they look like, they run on a narrow guage track and can be seen hauling loads of up to 1km long with a single engine. I just happened to find one which was carrying a load almost 1km long on a single engine.. the power they have is unbelievable.

  • @jrisener Thanks for Sharing

  • i've seen a cane load like this with 186 wagons behind a bo-bo diesel. Each wagon is about 4 ton so thats quite alot for the little diesel to pull

  • Nice video. Gives a good feeling of just how awsome the cane train is!

Such a small loco, small gauge, and big train.

  • 2:56 good luck waiting mate :D

  • i reckon if u put the wide gauge wheels on one of deas suger cane locos it wud pull as as good as a bigger loco ?

  • in hawaii we used to have those but now i think there is only one left and it is a turist train

  • No, I have No idea. I've only been driving these locos for 7 years now.

  • Do take into consideration these are a Diesel-Hydraulic configuration.

It is equivalent to lifting a car with one hand using a bottle-jack.

Lots of speed at low power -> Lots of power at low speed.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • pulling some think like that will blow the engine
