His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, prefect of the Supreme Tribunal at the Apostolic Signatura, received an honorary doctorate of humanities before the beginning of the baccalaureate Mass at Franciscan University. In his address he acknowledged especially Father Michael Scanlan, TOR, for his "lion's heart" in holding to truth and bringing the University through the tumultuous period in the 1970s.
