Prep Football Roundup: Buhach Colony hammers Clovis East

CLOVIS -- After Hammergate, Buhach Colony went out and pounded Clovis East.

The Thunder were penalized 15 yards before Friday's night game even started for carrying the sledgehammer they carry onto the field before every game.

Apparently, you can't carry hammers on the field in the Central Section.

"One kid carries out our hammer before each game," Buhach Colony coach Kevin Swartwood said. "It's voted on by the kids on Thursday. I guess you can't do that in their section."

The penalty didn't matter as the Thunder rolled to a 60-7 win to improve to 5-0.

Stefon Gold started the rout with a 68-yard touchdown run on BC's third play of the game.

"I think our kids were excited to play anyway," Swartwood said. "I don't know if the penalty fired up the kids more, but I was pretty heated."


California High School Football - Buhach Colony trounces Clovis East

(September 30, 2011: Clovis, CA 93611) In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Buhach Colony Thunder football squad scored a big 60-7 victory over the Clovis East Timberwolves.

In their next game, the Thunder clash with the Turlock Bulldogs (Turlock, CA) in a Central California match, on Friday, October 7. Buhach Colony will attempt to move on its 5-0 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 4-1 record after their 42-7 non-league win over Franklin (Stockton, CA).

The Timberwolves (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Clovis (Clovis, CA). The Cougars come into the Tri-River test with a 5-0 record. In their last test, Clovis triumphed over Sanger (Sanger, CA), 56-21, in a non-league test.
