  • You could cook the chicken like that if you want to remove the meat from the bones. It wouldn't make a good "whole" chicken. If that's what you wanted, it would be better to bake it.

  • would the same go for chicken drumsticks and could you just dump them in there for 15 minutes w/ the bone?

  • @tinkleondabeach You could, but the meat will might actually fall off the bone. Remember, they won't be seasoned, so this method is good for when you are using the meat to add into something else.

  • how does boiled chicken taste anyways does it taste better then baked and fried and is it healthier?

  • @Redman092000 Boiled chicken is great for adding into recipes that ask for cooked chicken. If you are eating it plain, it's just...plain. So you will need to season it to taste, or will will be pretty boring. It is healthier than baked of fried, because the fat content is greatly reduced.

  • Did you add any salt or anything for flavoring?

  • @flowjitsu1337 You would want to add your seasonings after you bring it out of the water.

  • You're like the perfect housewife!

  • @dymatrixnz Did you check the sugar on your "low-fat" bbq sauce? If you properly trim the fat off your chicken in the first place and cook with Pam, the fat:protein ratio is completely negligible. Chicken is incredibly lean to begin with, so if you aren't adding fat (by using oil or butter to cook in) then there is nothing to worry about.

  • boiled chicken + Tabasco or hot sauce = best thing ever

  • @dymatrixnz Yes. That's about as lean as you can get with chicken.

  • I'm somewhat on a bodybuilding diet. I figured I would boil my chicken and then wash the chicken of any surface fat and then let it cool. Then shred it with my fingers and do a shredded stir fry. Its came out like you say... Plain... But it was much more manageable with some low fat BBQ Sauce. Must be way better as far as fat:protein ratio though.... Right?

  • yay

  • chicken looks like crack rock

  • that was really helpful, thankyou so much for taking the time to post
